After teaching Spanish as a foreign language for 15 years on a free-lance basis, I am pleased to offer El Naranjo, a place where students can learn the language, be lodged, consult abundant material, relate to people and feel at home.
My wish is to teach our language in a personalized and friendly setting, attending to no more than two groups at a time.
My students receive extensive information about our country and culture in Montevideo. We promote first-hand interaction with locals and I lead visits to significant places and events.
A solid background in several languages, good knowledge on history, development and the art of Montevideo and my will to fulfill each student's expectations through a flexible plan back up my proposal.
Since my year as an exchange student in the U.S.A. as a high school student, I have enjoyed many intercultural experiences.
El Naranjo is a chalet home located in a quiet residential area. You can walk three hundred yards to the beach or ride a bike along the ocean front. A 10 minute bus ride will take you to fashionable shops, pubs and restaurants; downtown Montevideo is 30 minutes away. Three bedrooms are available to lodge students and visitors.
On the patio, under the shade of jasmine and of an old orange tree, surrounded by abundant vegetation, we invite you to enjoy, relax, exchange experiences with locals, and... why not? prepare yourself a typical asado (barbecued beef).
" Teaching my language and exchanging cultural experiences at the same time is a very rewarding occupation that I enjoy fully."
